Critical Care
Critical care medicine is a continuous intensive monitoring and therapeutic intervention at the right time by the right person.
‘Intensivist’ is a medical expert after post-graduation, who has undergone training in critical care medicine (ICU) from a recognized institute. After the training he has dedicated full time practice round the clock to manage critically ill patients.
Medical council of India (MCI) has recognized critical care specialist as super specialists. Until now critical care medicine was a disorganized medical branch.
Critical care medicine requires a continuous uninterrupted medical monitoring and management through a team which has a vision and expertise to do timely diagnosis and interventions to prevent further progress of the disease.
It is not possible to deliver it remotely or through 10-15 minutes of consulting on OPD basis. So to execute real time critical care, we have created a team of dedicated qualified critical care specialists under the banner of “Intensivist Consultancy”.
- It is a group of intensivists led by Dr. Faruk Memon and Dr. Jigar Mehta, who are the pioneers in the development of critical care concept in the state of Gujarat.
- They are the founder members of Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM), Ahmedabad.
- Dr. Faruk Memon is the first official consultant of “Fundamental Disaster Management” Course (FDM) in India, certified by SCCM, USA.
- Dr. Jigar Mehta is secretary of ISCCM, Ahmedabad and also official consultant of FCCS certified by SCCM, USA.
- Dr. Jigar Mehta and Dr. Faruk Memon are recognized teachers of Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine (IDCCM).
- Dr. Faruk and Dr. Jigar are both MD with Diploma in critical care also head the Department of Critical Care Medicine at Rajasthan Hospital, Shahibaug, Ahmedabad for last eleven years.
- Dr. Sandip Vaghela (MD, diploma in critical care) looks after Jivraj Mehta Cardiac ICU and Shifa Multispecialty ICU as Head of Department for the last 3 years.
- Dr. Ritesh Patel (MD, diploma in critical care) is responsible for Siddhivinayak hospital, ICU, Maninagar and Ashirwad hospital ICU as head of department for the last 3 years.
- Dr. Saumil Sanghvi (MD, diploma in critical care) is working as head of department, ICU at GCS medical college, Ahmedabad since the last 1 year.
